NBER summer institute 2006

Strangly enough my invitation to this event was lost in the mail I think so I have to wait another year I guess :). New Economist provides us with the program for week one and I can promise you a lot of hours of interesting readership in the summer heat. Greg Mankiw  also talks about his attendance to this gathering and shows some of his favorite papers and discussions so far.

The event is divided up in categories and even the most wayward economist should be able to find something interesting, so be sure to bookmark this for future reference. I have not looked closely at the events and papers yet but Mankiw's pointer to Daron Acemoglu's paper about health improvements and growth sure seems interesting although I do not think I agree with its main conclusion.
